RECIPE: Cheese and tomato braaibroodjie

• COOKING TIME: 10 minutes

INGREDIENTS
• 8 slices white bread
• Soft butter
• 200 g Cheddar, thickly sliced
• 2 tomatoes cut into medium slices
• 1 white onion, peeled and slice thinly
• Salt and white pepper


COOKING INSTRUCTIONS
Generously butter both sides of each slice of bread – this will ensure the outside is golden and crispy.
Layer the slices of cheese, tomato and onion on half of the slices of bread, season with salt and white pepper, and cover with the rest of the slices of buttered bread.
Carefully place the sandwiches on the grid braai over medium heat until they are golden brown and the cheese oozes out. Eat as soon as they come off.
